During 2018 we will be making some significant changes to the buildings on the Reception-Providore side of the Walled Garden. The ultimate goal will be to convert these rooms into a thirty-six bed accommodation block which is due to be completed in March 2019. This will allow us to better cater for larger groups without having to split them across multiple buildings.

To enable this to happen, the first step in the process is to move the Providore from its current location into Reception.

There is a small store adjacent to Reception. The wall between the two will be removed providing additional space and an additional entrance/exit. Work will also be done on improving the flooring then moving the stock into Reception.

Ultimately this will mean that we will be able to keep the shop open for more hours, ensuring that people are able to access it during Reception opening hours. Very little else will change – the current variety and quality of stock will be maintained and the team of volunteers managed by Steve, the shop manager, will continue to serve customers. The shop will be supported by Reception staff during busy periods.
